You have the option of becoming a permanent resident or working temporarily in Canada as a caregiver. Caregivers have a place to live permanently. Keeping your status as a temporary resident. While working in Canada, you must always have a valid temporary residence status. You must submit an application to, before your work permit expires, you can either renew it or amend the restrictions of it.
You can continue working under the same circumstances as your original work license while you waited for a decision if you got a new job work permit before your present one expired. This is referred to as “maintained status” (previously known as implied status). Please consult the table below for more information.

Pilot Programs for Home Child Care Providers and Home Support Workers

If you qualify for the Home Child Care Provider Pilot or the Home Support Worker Pilot, you might well be able to petition for permanent residence, have an offer of employment to work in one of these professions and meet the qualifying conditions
You’ll acquire an open work permit to travel to Canada and work for a limited period of time as a result of these pilots. This work permit includes the following:

⦁ is there a restriction on what you can do for a living? (so you have to work in that specific occupation)
⦁ a Labour Market Impact Assessment isn’t required (LMIA)
⦁ allows you to gain the necessary job experience to be qualify for permanent residence

Your expertise as a home child care provider or support worker may be used to determine your eligibility for permanent residency.

Program for Live-in Caregivers

New applications for the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) are no longer being accepted. You can only petition for permanent residence through the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP) if you have at least two years of experience working in the program and meet the following requirements: You already have an LCP work permit in Canada, or you were accepted for your first LCP work permit have until November 30, 2014, based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment filed to Employment and Social Development Canada.
If you have worked as a caregiver in Canada but do not qualify for either of the above alternatives, you may be able to immigrate to Canada through a different method. Work for caretakers on a temporary basis You may be eligible to work temporarily if you don’t match the conditions for permanent residence as a caretaker.

Submit an application to prolong your work permit.

If you operate as a caregiver in Canada, you may be eligible for a work permit extension through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). Your employer must first obtain a favourable Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Make an application for a new work permit.

In most situations, you can submit an application to work as a caregiver in Canada temporarily under the TFWP if you meet the following criteria:
You’re in Canada and can qualify for a work permit from within the country, if you are working in Quebec and your company applied for an LMIA before June 18, 2019, or if you are working outside of Canada and your employer registered for an LMIA before June 18, 2019. Your employer must first obtain a positive LMIA.

Concerning the procedure
To work in Canada, the majority of foreign nationals require a work permit. You can figure out if you need a work permit if you’re not certain.
Obtain the appropriate work permit for your circumstances. Work permits are divided into two categories. Work permit tailored to the needs of the employer, an employer-specific work visa enables you to work in Canada under certain circumstances, such as:

Open Work Permit

You can operate for just about any employer in Canada with an open work visa, save for those who: consistently offers striptease, exotic dance, escort services, or erotic massages and is recognized as unqualified on the list of employers who have refused to comply with the requirements

Who is eligible to apply?

All applicants must meet certain conditions in order to be considered. When applying for a work visa, you must meet various standards based on where you are.

If you are applying from outside of Canada, you must meet certain eligibility requirements. Before entering Canada, anyone can apply. However, depending on which country or territory you’re

You have such a valid study or permanent residency; your spouse, common-law partner, or parents have a valid study or work permit; you’re qualified for a post-graduation working visa and your student visa is still accurate; you have an interim resident permit legitimate for six months or more; you’re going to have to wait for a judgment on an implementation for permanent residence from within Canada; you filed a claim for refugee protection (CUSMA).

Before you go to Canada, here are some things to consider.

⦁ To keep everyone safe, all visitors to Canada must comply with testing and quarantine procedures. Some of these criteria may be waived under certain circumstances.
⦁ Determine whether or not you are exempted from any testing or quarantine procedures.
⦁ You may also be required to take a medical examination before entering Canada. Check to see if you require one.
